So when you have a limited budget, the best way to indulge in this spectacular food is to go to "Happy Hour". Almost every restaurant around here offers a Happy Hour from about 3-6pm. The menu consists of a smaller portion of some of their best dishes & also includes discounted prices on drinks. So for a total of about $20 we can have a full meal of wonderful, delicious, freshly prepared & beautiful food and thirst quenching drinks. Sometimes we can even score an amazing dessert, too!
We also have 2 large grocery stores within 4-5 blocks in either direction of our condo. Besides offering the usual grocery store items, both stores have an amazing bakery & prepared food sections. One of our favorites is the hand-made pizzas & on Tuesdays they are buy 1 get 1 free! Organic products & locally grown produce are the norm around here, so it's very easy to shop for healthy foods. (I can buy a gallon of organic milk for $4.99 here. Back home it was $3.99 for a 1/2 gallon!). I love being able to walk to the store to pick up a few items. It makes it so much less of a chore.
And then there are the Farmer's Markets. Every Saturday there's a huge one, & then almost every other day of the week you can find a smaller version throughout the city. There are tons of locally grown (mostly organic) fruits & vegetables. And the food is beautiful- I always want to take pictures of the array of colors & shapes. People bring their reusable bags or small carts & pick up things such as a "flat" of blueberries, a few peaches, or whatever is in-season at the time.
On the west side of the city (where we live) there are very few fast food chains. If you want a quick bite to eat, people usually go to one of the numerous (and I mean a lot) food carts. There are actually certain blocks of the city that have them lined up from one street to another. We actually have 1 cart that sets up right across the street from our condo. And just because they are "fast", don't mistake that for meaning "unhealthy". Most of the carts pride themselves on serving quick, healthy meals.
I am humbled to know that we are beyond blessed
to have the opportunity to eat this amazing food on a daily basis.
I am ever so grateful for His glorious blessings upon my family.

Matthew 14: 15-20
That evening the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late.
Send the crowds away so they can go to the villages and buy food for themselves.”
But Jesus said, “That isn’t necessary—you feed them.”
“But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish!” they answered.
“Bring them here,” he said. Then he told the people to sit down on the grass.
Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them.
Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he gave the bread to the disciples, who distributed it to the people.
They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers.
About 5,000 men were fed that day, in addition to all the women and children!
