I packed us a lunch consisting of things I found in our kitchen: a pear, an orange, homemade P.B.&J. cracker-sandwiches, & some cookies, and by 2 pm we were off to our destination! (LOL- we can never get out of the house before 1 pm. It's just a fact that we've come to terms with. And actually, we really try not to pay too much attention to the clock anyway.)
It was a nice, relatively easy hike. The incline was minimal and the scenery was amazing. It was a clear & mostly smooth path along a stream, with gigantic moss-covered trees as far as the eyes could see. Grace enjoyed walking for probably the first 1/4 of the hike and we used the backpack carrier for the remainder.
We stopped to enjoy lunch at the half way point and then we let Grace run around in the open field. She had so much fun that she fell asleep in the backpack on our hike back to the car.
We topped off our night with a walk over to the local water park. This is probably one of the last nights that it will be warm enough for Grace to go in the water, so we couldn't pass it up. And of course she had a blast. She just can't get enough of it.
So with all that exercise and fresh air, do you think we'll all sleep well tonight?!
***EDITED:
(1) Lol- Funny enough (or not), it wasn't a restful night. Oh well- you win some, you lose some.
(2) I remembered something cute that happened on our walk: Every once in a while someone would be running on the path & pass us by. Grace wanted to copy them, so she'd try to run in her cute learning-to-run sort of way. I wish I had it on video. She's just too adorable. :-)
This is the day the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Fun at the water park.
Water! (or as Grace says: WAR-E-O!)
