When it rains, it pours

My husband arrived with our dogs 1 week after us.  Finally we were all together in our new city!  He loved the place, too, & our dogs made themselves right at home.

We got right into a groove of going to farmers markets, lots of walking, & general soaking up of the city.  Glorious!

Until it started to rain.  Well, not the rain that people think is typical in the NW.  More like the expression, "when it rains, it pours."  Our car battery died & we had to replace it.  Not that big of a deal, but it set us back a few bucks.  Then we found out that one of our dogs had tape worm.  Gross, but not a major disaster.  We had an appointment for her & we thought we'd be all set.  Then out of nowhere our other dog came down with a mysterious illness.  He couldn't stand, he was drooling, his eyes were moving rapidly, & his head was tilted.  So instead of bringing our female dog to the vets, we brought him instead.  He was diagnosed with vestibular disease (http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_vestibular_disease.html).  That set us back quite a few bucks!  But the poor guy was so sick & of course we had to get him better.  Then we brought our female dog to the vets to get her treated & also found out she had an ear infection.  $$$!  Ugh. :-(  But again, she needed to be treated, so of course we were willing to do it.  To top it all off, our poor boy didn't recover well and didn't eat for almost a week, so he had to go back to the vets for more treatments.

Oh, and did I tell you that my husband has not secured a job yet?!?! :-/

As I mentioned in my last post, God is good.  And he's good all the time, not just when things are going well.  We are grateful to even have a car.  We are also grateful to have 2 wonderful dogs- ages 12 & 13, still with us!  And to get back to the rain reference, we are happy that it has hardly rained here... and there's no heat wave! Happy summer in the NW. :-)
